Robinia 'Moptop' Mop Top Robinia Plant Photos & Information

Some varieties are grafted and grown into a lollipop shape (called 'Mop Top' robinias), have bright yellow foliage during the warmer months or white or purple flowers. Growing from 2 - 12 m tall depending on the variety robinias make an attractive backyard or street tree or smaller varieties can be grown in a container.. This shrub has to be pruned starting from the exposed top or outer layer. Trim the tree's branches, but don't overdo it. If you have a large tree, you can prune it by around 2-3 inches; otherwise, prune the branches of the tree alone, leaving the main stem and healthy branches alone, to gently diminish the leaves.

Acer Platanoides

Acer Platanoides "Globosum". 5m x 4m. No pruning necessary. Good alternative to Robinia Mop Top

Robinia 'Mop Top'. A great, grafted variety of Robinia. A symmetrical and round-headed small tree that is grafted onto a 1.2 or 1.8m standard. The trunk will never grow taller than 1.2 or 1.8m (only thicker); just the standard above will grow bigger and create an almost ball shape. Can be pruned severely if desired in late summer or winter.. Place your Golden Mop Cypress in the hole, making sure the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill the hole with the original soil, firming it gently around the base of the plant. Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil and help establish the roots. 3. Post-Planting Care:
